In many games, the player on the left of the dealer cuts the pack. This is done when the hand of the left-hand opponent is better than the hand of the right-hand opponent. During the draw phase, all cards are dealt face down. Then, each player can choose to use four of the cards in his or her hand or one card from the hand.
If a player has a pair, he or she must put at least two chips into the pot. If a player has a straight, he or she must put at least five chips into the pot. A player who has three of a kind, or a straight flush, must put at least six chips into the pot. A player who has a full house, or a straight flush, must put a minimum of seven chips into the pot.
